Ilhéu is a new magazine of conversations from the Atlantic. It is created, produced and printed in the Azores. It offers the highest quality writing, photography, art and design, published twice a year, showcasing local and international talent in various fields including architecture, literature, culture, the environment and politics.
The first issue focuses on São Miguel, where everyone who works on the magazine lives. Highlights include an exclusive interview with Rabo de Peixe Netflix TV script writer Hugo Gonçales, a conversation with Pedro Borges, the award-winning architect responsible for the exceptional new renovations at Terra Nostra Garden, and the acclaimed Korean ceramic artist, Hun-Chung Lee. Lee counts Brad Pitt and Norman Foster as collectors, and is himself planning a new art intervention across all nine islands of the Azores.
